Ask House to Pass the Data Privacy Act
The state Senate unanimously approved an omnibus data privacy bill, S.2619, in September. Now it’s time for the House to act. Please call or email your state Representative and ask that the Data Privacy Act be reported out of the House Ways & Means Committee and brought to the floor for a vote.
This bill, An Act establishing the Massachusetts Data Privacy Act, will ban the sale of sensitive personal data, including geolocation, health, and biometric data. The Location Shield Act, one of our priority bills at Day on the Hill, was folded into this bill.

Dear Rep. ____________:
I urge you to support S.2619, An Act establishing the Massachusetts Data Privacy Act, which has passed the Senate, and ask leadership to bring this important bill to the floor for a vote. Our privacy and our data is at risk as never before. We must have the protections this bill provides to ban the sale and restrict the collection of sensitive personal data, including geolocation, health and biometric data. As a member of the League of Women Voters of ___________, I strongly endorse these safeguards to protect our personal data and ask the House to act quickly.
Thank you.
