Contact your legislators to support abusive litigation bill

Thank you to everyone who joined us August 19 to hear from women who have experienced the devastating consequences of abusive litigation in the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. Abusive litigation is defined as abusers using the Court system to maintain contact, to harass, abuse, and control their victim.

LWVMA is advocating for passage of H.1594/S.1205, An Act relative to controlling and abusive litigation, that will educate judges, lawyers, and parties on the marks of abusive litigation and provide judges with the tools to combat it. This event was not recorded due to its sensitive nature. Read our testimony in support of the bill HERE.

Please contact your state representative and your state senator today using the sample script below. Check to see if they are signed on as an official cosponsor by looking for their name under the “petitioners” tab. If they are listed, thank them. If they are not a cosponsor yet, please ask them to sign onto the bills.
