Who Governs the Governor’s Council

Please join LWVMA for Who Governs the Governor’s Council? on Thursday, March 19 at 11:00 AM in Hearing Room B-1 at the State House. This event launches Who Governs the Governor’s Council (WGGC), an organization dedicated to educating voters on the Governor’s Council, what it is and does, and why it is important. The Governor’s Council, an elected body that exists in only two states, approves nominees to the Judiciary–the branch of government that ensures our rights, enforces our laws, and controls parole. WGGC encourages the electorate to learn about the role of the eight elected members who determine the hundreds of judges appointed to the bench. Join us to learn the importance of the Governor’s Council and how you can get involved.
