Along the New England coastline, massive wind farms at various stages of construction have been issued stop work orders by the federal government, including Vineyard Wind that was 90% completed. The future of climate goals and renewable energy is unclear.
This panel discussion will focus on what these developments mean for everyday ratepayers and our local Net Zero goals, including:
- What options remain for advancing renewable energy in a changing policy landscape?
- How might project delays affect future energy costs and grid reliability?
- What are the most promising and cost-effective renewable resources?
Panelists include:
- Jon Blair, General Manager of Marblehead Municipal Light Department
- Matthew Ide, Executive Director, Special Projects at Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC)
- John Rogers, Union of Concerned Scientists, (UCS)
- Joanna Troy, Deputy Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources
The moderator will be Jenni Armini, State Representative for the 8th Essex District.
Refreshments will be served after the program.
Registration is required to join in person or online via Zoom. Please register to join in person below or via Zoom HERE. If registering for Zoom, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online.
