Firearms Repeal Ballot Question Volunteer Forum- September Date TBD

LWVMA is participating in the Vote Yes for a Safe Massachusetts Campaign to defeat the Massachusetts Firearm Regulations Referendum (2026). This is a veto referendum already secured on the November 2026 ballot in order to repeal An Act Modernizing Firearms Laws (H.4885); Chapter 135 of MA General Laws. H.4885 was signed into law by Governor Healey on July 25, 2024 with an added emergency preamble so it could take effect immediately. A YES vote upholds the law as is. A NO vote repeals the law. LWVMA will participate in the Vote Yes for a Safe Massachusetts Campaign, the YES campaign to uphold the law. The campaign will be launching soon.

LWVMA is a member of the Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence, a 100+ member organization working to eradicate all forms of gun violence from the Commonwealth. The Coalition is leading the charge to defend the 2024-enacted An Act Modernizing Firearm Laws, that banned ghost guns and 3-D printed guns and so much more. Now we turn our focus to successfully defending the law. Stay tuned to League Leaders Google group for information and updates regarding a virtual volunteer meeting at the end of September
