Massachusetts Civics Projects Spring Showcases: Save the Dates

Register to serve as a community advisor for the State Civics Regional Showcases. There are 4 locations this year, and Generation Citizen is partnering with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to organize the events. DESE very much appreciates having members of the League serve as community advisors. We are trusted and respected participants. Last year there was a shortage of people to serve as community advisors. Participate yourself or by sending representatives to the regional showcase nearest you. In this role, you listen to students present their project for a few minutes, you ask them questions and provide helpful feedback, and provide some rating comments on your cell phone. DESE does provide a short orientation when you arrive so you will be prepared. It is an easy role so don’t feel that you need special training. Your skills as a League member will serve you well. Register with Generation Citizen HERE.

We would also like to know how many League members are participating. So after you register at the link, please also contact Brynne Gorman who will maintain a spreadsheet for us to record our participation. Brynne can be reached at this link: bgorman@lwvma.org
