Program Planning for 2025-27 Biennium
LWVMA Convention 2025 planning is officially underway. Now’s your chance to influence what we study and where we take action. What should LWVMA prioritize for the next two years? Is there a burning public policy issue that requires attention? Your feedback makes a difference. For the 2023-25 biennium, members recommended and approved the Action Priority of Ending Gun Violence. Thanks to your dedicated advocacy, An Act Modernizing Firearms was enacted into law in July 2024. Review more of our legislative wins here.

Overview
LWVMA program consists of state governmental issues chosen by Convention for concerted study and action. In order for members to adopt the LWVMA program for the 2025-27 biennium at Convention in June 2025, the LWVMA Board is asking local Leagues, units and Members-at-Large now to:
- Review and recommend any changes to the proposed action priorities and goals
- Recommend any new studies, restudies or concurrences
Program planning in three easy steps
- Coordinate with your League/Unit. A designated local League member coordinates reviewing the Program Planning Guide, leading a discussion, and reporting back to LWVMA. Members-at-Large respond as individuals.
- Hold your meeting. The meeting can be a special meeting for interested members, part of a board meeting, or incorporated into local program planning.
- Report to LWVMA. Submit your recommendations via Google form HERE by March 14, 2025; one submission per local League and one per Member-at-Large.

3/14/2025* Local Leagues submit program and action recommendations to LWVMA
4/23/25 LWVMA Board develops program and action recommendations
5/2/2025* LWVMA Board distributes its program and action recommendations plus any non-recommended proposals to local Leagues for review prior to Convention
5/23/2025* Local Leagues suggest changes or additions to LWVMA Board-recommended program to LWVMA
6/14/2025 Adoption of LWVMA Program for 2025-2027 at Convention
