Courtney Henderson is a political strategist, community leader, and advocate dedicated to driving positive change in the South Shore area of Massachusetts. She currently serves as the Director of Immigrant Affairs for the City of Brockton, making history as the first person to hold this position. In this role, she leads efforts to support and empower immigrant communities, working closely with local organizations and stakeholders to address critical challenges. In addition to her work in public service, Courtney is an adjunct professor at Quincy College, where she teaches American Government. A committed advocate for civil rights and equity, Courtney serves as an Executive Board Member of the Brockton Area NAACP. She has played a pivotal role in organizing workshops focused on civic engagement, leadership, and women’s empowerment. From 2018 to 2024, she chaired the Women in NAACP (WIN) Committee, leading initiatives to enhance the quality of life for women and children. Under her leadership, the Brockton WIN Committee became the only active WIN Committee in Massachusetts. Courtney’s impact extends beyond local advocacy. In 2022, she joined the Board of Directors for the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts, where she advances diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives statewide. She is also deeply engaged in promoting voter participation among minority communities and combating voter suppression. With over a decade of experience in campaign management and policy analysis, Courtney is the founder of Develop & Empower Consulting LLC, a firm specializing in strategic communications, constituent engagement, and public policy development for candidates and elected officials. Originally from Ohio, Courtney graduated magna cum laude from Fisk University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish. She later earned a Master’s degree in International Relations from Harvard University.
