About Me:

Education & Training

Lyude Paul has never known a career outside of community-oriented spaces. During a moonshot career trajectory spanning a student internship with Google Summer of Code, numerous contributions to community-built FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) projects, a currently decade-plus stint as a hired gun graphics hardware compatibility and driver support fixer with IBM’s Linux subsidiary Red Hat, and Board Secretary of the X.Org foundation, she has worked tirelessly to use her platform to improve access and dignity for marginalized people within tech spaces. A proud current Middleboro Massachusetts resident, transgender activist, and daughter of Wilbraham Massachusetts, Lyude is most recently a Board Member of Springfield.community, a Springfield Massachusetts-based tech 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping all residents of Springfield and Hampden County access the same opportunities that helped her reach for the stars and beyond. With deep gratitude for her consideration for a leadership role in this historic organization, Lyude comes to the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts eager to lend her strength to our ongoing efforts to uphold equitable access for all in a rapidly evolving world, to uphold the rights of all voters, and to use her reputation and reach as a community builder to strengthen engagement among voters across the social spectrum.
