Please click here to register for the 2024 LWVMA Council, The Future of the League: Building the Leadership Pipeline.

Date: Saturday, June 22, 2024

Time: 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.

Where: On Zoom

What:  A leadership pipeline discussion and Q&A featuring Beth Chandler, CEO of YW Boston, and a brief business meeting where we’ll recieve an update from LWVMA’s leadership and elect 2024-2026 LWVMA officers and directors.

Meet Our Speaker

Beth is no stranger to the League – she was with us in 2021 as we focussed on our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion policy and she spoke about the ABC’s of Change. Beth will be speaking about best practices for building the next generation of leaders. Her remarks will include strategies and tips for building the leadership pipeline to insure that Leagues are “building their bench” for the sustainability of the organization.

Beth is a leadership trailblazer in mission-driven nonprofit work in Massachusetts for over twenty years. She currently serves as the President and CEO of YW Boston, an organization committed to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Registration

Everyone is welcome to join us for Council but only delegates will vote for officers and directors. All attendees (voting delegates and observers) must register to attend on Zoom here

Delegates

Each League has an allotted number of voting delegates which corresponds to your League’s membership count as of February 1, 2024.  You can review here how many delegates your League has. Local League presidents and steering committee chairs must register their League delegates here by June 3, 2024.  There are no restrictions to the number of observers your League can send to Council. Observers may not vote but can participate in all other Council activities.

League Business

The only voting to take place at Council will be to elect Officers and Directors. You can read the Nominating Committee’s report here. We’re excited about the new leaders joining our Board, and hope you’ll enjoy reading about their talents and accomplishments.
