Voter Registration

You can register to vote in Massachusetts if you’re a U.S. citizen, a Massachusetts resident, 18 or older, and not currently incarcerated by reason of a felony conviction. If you don’t have a Massachusetts ID, you’ll need to register using a paper form instead.

Moved in the past year? That affects your polling place. Changed political parties? That can affect your primary ballot. Update either online.

Changed your name through the Massachusetts RMV? Update the name that will appear on your ballot online.

Not sure if you’re an active voter in MA? Check your status online. Note: MA residents who don’t respond to the Annual Street List are moved to the inactive voter list.

Get Involved!

Every election year, Election Protection recruits, trains, and deploys thousands of volunteers across the nation to serve as voters’ first line of defense against confusing voting rules, outdated infrastructure, rampant misinformation, and needless obstacles to the ballot box.
