2022 Mass. lieutenant governor primary debate: Republicans

Five candidates are vying to be the next Massachusetts lieutenant governor in a contest that was left wide open after Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito declined to seek re-election.

The race has attracted two Republicans, former state Rep. Kate Campanale and former state Rep. Leah Cole Allen; and three Democrats, Kim Driscoll, mayor of Salem, state Rep. Tami Gouveia and state Sen. Eric Lesser.

Join WBUR, The Boston Globe and WCVB for the first of two lieutenant governor primary debates with the Republican candidates, moderated by WBUR reporter Steve Brown and WBUR Consider This host Darryl C. Murphy.

A debate with the Democratic candidates will be the following day, August 16.
