Family Court Reform: Why We Need It and How Changes in the Law Can Help

Join us and special guest Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court John Casey on Monday, August 14, at 7:00 PM via Zoom. This informative discussion will be led by the Mass Family Advocacy Coalition and will focus on three bills related to the Massachusetts Family Court:

  • An Act improving protections relative to domestic violence — H1547/S1077
  • An Act relative to controlling and abusive litigation — H.1399/S.1079
  • An Act To Improve the Administration of Justice in the Probate and Family Court – H.1491/S.1138

This presentation on pending bills addressing domestic abuse and abusive litigation in Massachusetts was done for LWV Wellesley earlier this year. It was so well received that it is being repeated for all members. It will not be recorded so that survivors can tell their stories. We hope you can join us and special guest Chief Justice John Casey. We will learn about the pending bills and hear from women who, based on their family law experience, will explain how passage of these bills would positively impact women and children. It is anticipated that hearings on the first two bills will happen this fall. Register here.
