LWVMA DEI Peer Discussion Group featuring a presentation about the Stolen Beam Series
Please join the LWVMA DEI Peer Discussion Group’s next quarterly meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 7-8:30 on Zoom. Newcomers are always welcome!
We have been very lucky to receive a generous offer from the folks at the Stolen Beam Series to do a presentation at this quarterly meeting. Jeffrey Gold and Devorah Jacobson, co-chairs of the Reparations Committee of the Jewish Community of Amherst, JCA will speak for about 20 minutes or on the history of the Stolen Beam, some of its content and process, where it has thus far travelled, etc., and then open up the conversation for discussion. They have previously participated in numerous presentations about the Stolen Beam to a variety of groups – both religious and secular. Please come and bring your questions, comments, or reflections, and we are certain to have another meaningful discussion.
PLEASE NOTE: The League has not taken a position on reparations, either at the state or national level. We are at the stage of educating ourselves and the public on the pros and cons.
