Kate Boland

Kate Boland joined the League of Women Voters of Hingham in 2006. After the League completed its local Sustainability Study she became chair of the Green Committee in 2007. She facilitated community communications and educational programs on organic land care, recycling and composting.

From 2009-2011 she served as LWVH Schools Liaison. She held the President’s position from 2011-2013, and has been the current Steering Committee chair from 2013-2017. Her involvement in her League has allowed her to contribute by leading The Open Town Meeting Study and working on The Plymouth County Charter Study. During her tenure she has also been responsible for: The Voter Newsletter, member forums, voter service and membership.

Kate started her career as a teacher in Detroit then worked in marketing in business press publishing. After a number of relocations and finally settling in Hingham from Ireland, Kate has become an active member in her community. She has served on the town’s Fire Station Building Committee, assisted with the research for the town’s Government Study Committee, and she currently volunteers with the Farmers Market SNAP Program.
