Once again the League is answering the call to collect signatures to put the updated bottle bill on the November 2014 ballot. LWVMA is a leading member of the Coalition for a Litter-Free Massachusetts. This second signature-collecting effort is required by law in the event the legislature has not yet acted on the bill after the first (fall 2013) collection. The Coalition is collecting signatures from mid-May to early June. If a sufficient number of signatures are collected (goal is 22,000 – 25,000) the updated bottle bill will become a ballot question and Massachusetts voters will decide whether it becomes law.
Twenty Leagues in Massachusetts are collecting signatures for LWVMA and and Coalition.
