MA Attorney General and Sheriffs’ Association Working Together to Support Voting Rights for Incarcerated Population

Yesterday, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey and the Massachusetts Sheriffs’ Association announced that they will be working together to ensure that incarcerated eligible voters in Massachusetts are able exercise their right to vote. The League and our partners in the Election Protection Behind Bars Coalition are proud to support this initiative to improve access to the ballot box for incarcerated voters. Read the Coalition’s previous letter to the President of the Massachusetts Sheriffs’ Association here.

For more information about voting while incarcerated, see this flyer from the Attorney General’s office, which will be distributed throughout the Massachusetts criminal justice system. Read the full press release from the Attorney General and the Sheriffs’ Association here.
