What is the Field Service Program?

  • The Field Service program provides regional training, communication, and mentoring for local League leaders by linking Field Service Representatives with local League leaders in defined geographical areas.
  • The goal of the program is to support local League leaders, strengthen local Leagues and encourage regional collaboration.
  • Each Field Service Representative typically convenes 2 meetings a year among the League leaders in the region, communicates regularly by email or other means, offers assistance to local League leaders as needed, and reports to the LWVMA Field Service Coordinator, Karen Price.

Field Service and MLD

How is the Field Service Program different from the Membership and Leadership Development Program (MLD)?

Both programs provide support to local Leagues, and both have the ultimate goal to strengthen local Leagues, however the methods differ. All Leagues participate in the Field Service program which encourages inter-League sharing with the Representative serving as a coordinator and facilitator. MLD is a LWVUS program that links coaches with local Leagues one-on-one to work together through monthly teleconferences following an established curriculum. (For more information on MLD visit the MLD page.)
