Scotti Finnegan was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA. She became politically aware at eight years old watching the Kennedy-Nixon debates with her father. When she asked about the women moderating the debates her interest in the League of Women Voters was born. She attended Stonehill College in North Easton MA and became an elementary school teacher, an avocation more than a career. She taught for 20 years in a variety of school settings including Catholic, elite independent, and public schools. Scotti received her M.Ed from the Harvard Graduate School of Education later completing additional course work there and was certified as a principal. Scotti served as a principal in several different public schools in Massachusetts. In 2015 she retired from the Eastham Elementary School in Eastham MA. Scotti currently serves as the President of the League of Women Voters of the Cape Cod Area. She also serves as a commissioner on the Chatham Conservation Commission; volunteers for the Lower Cape Outreach Council and the National Alliance of Mental Illness where she and her husband facilitate family support groups.
Scotti is committed to the mission and principles of the LWV and is energized by the opportunities to contribute to the LWVMA and to the Board.
