Susan Millinger has lived in Shutesbury since 2008 and she joined the Amherst LWV in 2010. She has been Publicity and Public Relations chair and a Board member, 2012-2014; Editor of the electronic bulletin, 2016-present; and on the Board, then Steering Committee since 2017. Currently she is also convener of the Centennial Commemoration Committee, and member of the Sustainability and Climate Action Committee. Before moving back to Massachusetts in 2008, Susan spent thirty-three years teaching history and humanities at Roanoke College in Virginia. There she was an active member of the Virginia and the Southeastern Women’s Studies Associations as well as NOW and the American Association of University Women. She did her graduate work at the University of California at Berkeley, spending four years teaching at Lakehead University in northwestern Ontario before returning to Berkeley to complete her PhD. in 1974.
